A quintessential piece of kitchen furniture that once was found the length and breadth of rural Ireland – the double-stretcher table.
This example, constructed of pine, retains its original stain now gently worn.
A single drawer is present to the apron whilst two stretchers unite the gable stretchers. This configuration could serve to keep crocks and the like off the ground, but also as a place of rest for weary feet.
Solid and usable. Some historic flight-holes are present to the plywood base of the drawer.
Irish, circa 1930.
